Dress Well: In Flight

Madewell dress, Old tights (similar), Rag & Bone booties, Michael Kors watch (similar), J. Crew bracelet, Tory Burch bag, Tory Burch sunglasses

I always find dressing for flights to be especially tricky. I always want to be wearing something cute so that I look nice for whomever I'm visiting, but I want to be comfortable. I don't want any of my clothing pieces to be too complicated, but I want to be warm (why are planes so drafty?). When I saw this sweatshirt dress in Madewell a few weeks ago, a spent a few minutes debating over whether or not I needed it. I tend to gravitate towards solid-colored clothing, so did I really need another plain dress? However, it only took me a few minutes to realize that I would wear this dress all the time - it's just dressy enough to pair with high-heeled boots to wear to work, but it's comfortable enough to wear on a plane. So last Thursday, when I had to leave straight from work to go to the airport, I knew this dress would be the centerpiece of my travel outfit. And it was perfect for my four hour flight!

It was great to hear about so many of my friends' lives (they're all so talented - it's ridiculous) and to get the occasional compliment on this blog! On top of that, all four of my siblings came into town on Saturday afternoon for my mom's birthday, so we got to spend an evening with the entire family together, eating delicious food and laughing the entire time (naturally). Although I already miss all of my Rice friends and my family terribly, I could not be happier to be back home with my wonderful husband (who cleaned our apartment, did our laundry, and went grocery shopping in my absence!). I missed him and San Francisco, my most wonderful home, during my 72 hours away. Sometimes even a few days away from home cane make you realize how much you love living where you do.

I hope all of you had fantastic weekends! Enjoy your Monday, and thanks for reading!
