"Dinner at Dixie" would be a more factual title for this post - last night my husband and I finally headed over the Presidio to check out one of San Francisco's latest southern-style restaurants, Dixie. However, yesterday it was so warm in San Francisco that it felt like we were dining in Dixie too - with temperatures in the eighties and not a cloud in the sky, the city ground to a halt. People moved languidly from one place to the next - when you live in the cool/cold all the time, you forget that no one rushes in the heat. All day, while basking in the warmth, the only images that came to mind were various descriptions of Georgia in the summertime...so while we ate at Dixie last night, we channeled Dixie as well. Nothing makes you homesick for the southland quite like a good heat wave.
Well, tomorrow is my last day of my week off! Hard to believe it's gone by so quickly. Like a kid before the first day of school, though, I'm really excited to dive into this "new year" - I can't wait to get settled in my new job. However, I'm going to try to enjoy my last day off while it lasts! A good opportunity for some first-week outfit planning, don't you think?
Have a great weekend.
