Dress Well: Evening Stroll

J. Crew shirt (old), Vigoss jeans (old), Sam Edelman sandals, J. Crew bangles, Coach sunglasses

This past weekend was almost too wonderful to comprehend. Well, pretty much any weekend that starts with lunch at The French Laundry is guaranteed to be spectacular. I had such a great time spending Friday and Saturday eating, laughing, walking, and generally just enjoying life with my sister and parents. As usual, it was hard to see them leave - I always struggle with goodbyes.

On Sunday, my husband and I decided to take the whole day to detox and relax after the two filled (and filling!) days that preceded it. We slept in, walked to our favorite neighborhood brunch place, walked to the farmer's market, read on the roof (where I got yet another workout crop tanline...I don't want to talk about it), played tennis, cooked a light dinner, and watched Mad Men. It was the perfect end to a wonderful weekend.

Between eating dinner and watching Mad Men, we decided to take a little evening stroll. These pictures were taken then. For some reason, I decided to dig out my old Vigoss jeans that I haven't worn in ages. They used to be my absolute favorite pair - I would wear them on the plane every time I flew to go visit my husband (then-boyfriend) while we were in college. After feeling how they fit tonight, they just might start making an appearance in my regular jeans rotation! Lord knows you can't have enough jeans when you work at a startup (and when you have a penchant for getting strange tan lines on your legs).

You're probably tired of me talking at this point, but I'm going to press on - I am so proud of the fact that I was able to whip out this hairstyle. My hair is too long right now, which means I'm trying to get creative with different ways to wear it up. This is probably the most creative I've gotten so far...I realize that that isn't saying much. But who doesn't like braids on braids?

DSC_3256I didn't quite realize this until today, but my husband and I leave for our weeklong Florida vacation in less than two weeks. TWO WEEKS. I don't even have a bathing suit, much less a clue about where to buy one...any suggestions? Despite all the trip prep that I need to get around too (and it's a lot), I can't wait to be in sunny, warm, Florida, spending all day swimming, tanning, and reading. Does it get better than that?

Finally, today is my sister's birthday! Happy birthday to one of the funniest, kindest, smartest, and most stylish people I know - I love you, L, and I hope you have a great day!
