This past weekend, we had some of the warmest, summeriest weather I have ever experienced here in San Francisco. For three days only we all had the opportunity to pull out our best beach clothing and soak up every perfect 75-degree ray we could catch. It was the only sunlight these pasty-white arms have seen in a very long time.
Of course, given our Oscar movie quest, my husband and I burned a few sunlight hours in a dark movie theater watching Whiplash. We mostly went to go see it to cross it off the "see all Best Picture nominees" list, but I ended up enjoying it immensely. It's similar to Birdman in that I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but I think that people who either a) love playing musical instruments and/or b) are intensely competitive [like I am] will find a lot to, if not love, at least enjoy.
It's been a strangely quiet week, so I'm looking forward to the mini-glut of social events we have planned for the upcoming weekend. I hope you're looking forward to something fun as well. See you back here on Monday.
