Dress Well: Onesie Love

I know I'm allowed to call this outfit a "romper," but in my mind it will always be a onesie. I'm fully of the opinion that it deserves a childish name - I cannot understate how comfortable it is. Wearing this onesie is like wearing baby clothes or pajamas all day, albeit with heels. But that's a small sacrifice to make for the ridiculous amount of comfort this outfit affords.

DSC_2498After just a few times wearing this onesie, I'm strongly considering investing in some of the other rompers Anthropologie is currently selling on its website. I know these babies won't be in style forever, so I feel like we need to take advantage while we can - women's fashion tends far too much towards restriction and discomfort. So let's live it up in all-cotton onesies while the option's still available, shall we? I know you won't regret it.

Have a wonderful, one-of-a-kind weekend.

Dress Well: Pattern Play

Kohl's blouse, J. Crew jeans, Rag&Bone booties, Anthropologie cuff (old), Anthropologie bag (old), Ray-Ban sunglasses

There's something about this outfit that I just couldn't resist.

I've always been weirdly organized when it comes to color - everything in my life, from my closet to my food to my school folders, has always had its own color-coding system to it. Also, for me, colors have an order like numbers. Maybe that sounds crazy, but it's how it is in my head (the proper order is white, yellow, orange, pink, red, green, blue, purple, gray, brown, black, in case you were wondering).

When faced with the opportunity to make organizing colors the centerpiece of how I dressed, I clearly couldn't help but jump at it. Against all the black and white, turquoise and orange offer a nice change of pace, don't you think?

DSC_2119We're so close to Memorial Day weekend I can taste it! (It tastes like ice cream, obviously.) Have a wonderful Thursday.

Dress Well: Black Cuff

Madewell shirt, Paige Denim ankle zip jeans (old), Rag&Bone booties, Madewell necklace, Clare Vivier clutch, Ray-Ban sunglasses

Countdown to a haircut: two days. So necessary at this point.

I'll be honest - I wore this outfit when we went out to dinner on Friday night. On Monday mornings, I prefer to exhibit as little creativity as possible. When I can rely on past outfits AND wear something comfortable, I know I have a winner. There's nothing quite like floating through your Monday feeling like you're wearing a pajama shirt.

Dress Well: Mission Critical

Madewell shirt, Paige jeans, Zara heels, Thai bracelet via The Distillery - 1, Thai bracelet via The Distillery - 2, Unknown bracelet, Rebecca Minkoff purse, Ray-Ban sunglasses

This Madewell shirt has not gotten nearly enough wear (last seen here). Maybe it's because the last time I wore it coincided with a bit of a systems meltdown at work (long story) or maybe it's because I know as soon as I put it on I'll inevitably drop food on it (which, yes, definitely happened not long after these photos were taken), but for some reason, I always seem to pass over it when I'm getting dressed in the morning. Regardless, I've made it a personal goal to pluck this sucker out of my closet more often. As you can tell, I have really inspirational goals.

Yesterday was one of those days where everything seemed custom-designed to annoy me. Starting around 4PM, nothing went my way - from short tempers to battling with computer problems to driving in heavy rain, everything was a downer. I got home around 9PM and of course immediately started complaining to my husband about my lamentable day. And despite the fact that I was tired, and whining, and basically a total bummer to be around, my husband immediately went out and bought us red wine and chocolate ice cream to help me take the edge off.

While the ice cream and wine was nice (don't get me wrong) what actually took the edge off was being able to marvel at what an amazing husband I have. Seriously, I am steeped in good fortune. Today, I'm going to try my best to maintain a better attitude - I have no good reason to be anything but happy. I hope you feel the same way about your own situation.

Have a great day - see you back here tomorrow to close out the week!
