Eat Well: Flour + Water

I was fortunate enough to eat at Flour + Water, one of my favorite San Francisco restaurants, this past Friday. I've been there three times now, and each time I've ordered the restaurant's superb past tasting, which they change weekly. I can't recommend this place highly enough - the food is simple yet delicious, priced reasonably for the quality (for San Francisco - important caveat), and the interior of the restaurant is decorated in a clean, farmhouse style that I love. See the pictures below for more details from my night!

It's a miracle I paused long enough to take this picture before diving into this delicious appetizer.

Fun measuring cup candle + best Chianti I've ever had

The only pasta dish I forced myself to take a picture of before gobbling it up - sorry!

Such a wonderful dinner! Next time you're in SF, go! Word to the wise - go on a Friday (even though we had a reservation, there wasn't a wait for a table when we got there at 6:00PM) OR get there at 4:50PM on Saturday - you'll be first in line and will get seated immediately when the restaurant opens at 5:30.

I've got another big weekend of eating coming up and I couldn't be more excited. I'll try to be better about taking pictures of what I'm eating before I eat it up...but no promises. Have a great Tuesday.

Eat Well: Baked Ziti

This baked ziti dish is one of my two go-to weeknight pasta dishes.  I love pasta with meaty tomato sauce, especially after a long day of work. Plus, cooking this last week gave me the opportunity to pick up some good-looking eggplants at the farmer's market. Gotta love that!

I'm going to go ahead and say that my ziti rivals the one pictured in the book.

Have a wonderful day!
