Dress Well: Dressed and Ready

J. Crew shirt (old), Joe's jeans (old), Shoedazzle shoes (old), J. Crew necklace (not in stock), J. Crew bracelet, J. Crew bangles, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

From the outset, this was a very long week. And Wednesday was the longest part (as you likely gathered from yesterday's post). On Wednesday I knew I wouldn't be able to control how long my day was, but I could control one thing - how I felt. So I wore a combination of all my favorite clothes - my best J. Crew shirt (see sidebar for proof), my favorite necklace (are you tired of seeing it yet?), heels (for once), and my comfiest jeans. Somehow, feeling comfortable in my clothes and in my skin all day made coming home and changing into sweatpants all the more enjoyable.

What will be the motto of this weekend? SLEEP. I'm sure today will be forever long (ever feel like you can't even see the end of your to-do list?), but Saturday will save me. I hope you have something equally enjoyable in store.

Dress Well: Wild Thing

Anthropologie blouse, Joe's jeans (old), Steve Madden flats (old), Thai Bracelet via The Distillery (1, c/o), Thai Bracelet via The Distillery (2, c/o), J. Crew bangles, J. Crew bracelet

I mean, it has zebras on it - need I say more? A very special thank you to my mother-in-law for snatching this beautiful blouse up for me when she saw it at Anthropologie over the holidays. I've been in love with it since I first opened it on Christmas Day!

DSC_6126In a complete reversal from last week, we currently have no plans this weekend - a situation I am completely fine with. The weather in SF has been gorgeous, so I'm hoping to squeeze in some rooftop reading and a few long walks around the neighborhood. Plus, we've got to knock out another Best Picture nominee - only three more left to go!

I hope you all have a spectacular weekend - see you back here next week!

Dress Well: Fringe Case

J. Crew shirt (old), Joe's jeans (old), Madewell booties, Kendra Scott necklace, J. Crew bracelet, TEXI leather bag

If you're starting to worry that these boots might be surgically connected to my feet, let me set your mind at ease - they're not. Despite the fact that I can take them off, I haven't wanted to - somehow they're the perfect addition to every outfit I come up with. Funny how that happens.

Did everyone have a good week? Let me tell you, mine was looooong. The fact that it's Friday is definitely making me happy. You know what else is making me happy? Oscar nominations. Specifically, all the awesome Oscar nominations for Dallas Buyers Club, which I absolutely loved. I think this will be the first year ever where I see all the Best Picture nominees before the Academy Awards - we've already seen five, so only four more to go!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Dress Well: Here's to 2014

J. Crew shirt, Joe's jeans (similar), Rag&Bone booties, J. Crew necklace, J. Crew bangles, TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses (old)

This is the outfit I wore to ring in 2014. We spent New Year's Eve at our friends' apartment, quietly celebrating the new year. It was perfect.

My mom got me this amazing shirt and necklace for Christmas - I can't wait to wear them many, many more times in the upcoming year.

DSC_4273Plans for today include sleeping in, watching 30 Rock, and taking a walk around the neighborhood. Oh, and there might be a bit of work, but that's okay because we leave for the Virgin Islands on Friday!

Happy 2014, everyone!
