Dress Well: For the Premiere

Gap sweater, Free sample t-shirt, Paige jeans (similar), Rocket Dog booties, J. Crew necklace (old), Coach sunglasses (old)

This is what I like to call my "run out the door to pick up the Thai food I ordered before the Breaking Bad premiere" outfit. I may or may not need to work on the name. Regardless, the nasty, gray, cold weather we had here in San Francisco this past Sunday gave me, my husband, and my friend who was in town an excellent reason to stay inside all day and watch the Breaking Bad marathon on AMC while we counted down to the premiere. Clearly my choice of activities dictated that I wear nothing more fancy than a sweater, sample t-shirt, comfortable jeans, and my favorite, trusty booties.

Did you guys watch the premiere? If so, what did you think?

Dress Well: Instant Replay

Zara jacket (similar), Vince tee, Madewell jeans, J. Crew necklace (similar), Rag & Bone booties, Rebecca Minkoff bag

See? I wasn't lying last week when I said this was my new favorite shirt. I couldn't resist pulling it back out again this past Saturday for dinner out followed by a little party with friends. Something tells me I'll pull it back out this week, too...

Also, I'm glad we snapped these pictures when we did. With the heavy fog (and humidity) in San Francisco, my hair was stick-straight by the time we got to dinner 10 minutes later. Bummer!

Dress Well: Bands of Blue (Florida, Day 2)

J. Crew dress (old)

It doesn't really get easier than this. I've missed wearing my sundresses since I left Texas...glad I'm getting the chance to pull some old ones out this week!

Guys, it rained ALLLL day yesterday. ALL day. But it was fine! We slept in, lazed around, did a 1,000 piece puzzle, ate lots of cheese, and watched Friday Night Lights. Pretty solid day in my opinion. However, I wouldn't be too upset if the sun decides to show its face again today!

Dress Well: Signs of Summer

Gap sweater, Citizens of Humanity jeans, Rebecca Minkoff sandals, Anthropologie scarf (old), J. Crew bangle, Anthropologie bag (old), Coach sunglasses (similar)

I tried to make this outfit trendy, I swear. There was chambray involved at one point, and a leopard-print belt at another. In fact, I accidentally forgot to take off the leopard-print belt before we left to go over to our friends' apartment on Sunday night - you can kind of see the strange little outline around my hips. You can imagine my relief when I realized that my jeans were uncomfortably tight because of the belt, and not because of the circumference of my waist. Dodged a bullet there.

I realize that basically nothing about this outfit shouts "summer!" to any of you poor souls who don't live in San Francisco. However, summer weather here is basically no different than winter weather here, so it's sweaters and scarves year-round. However, I still managed to make this outfit seasonally appropriate - I wore sandals! That's all you need for summer, right?

Sometimes when we're out taking photos from the blog, I look up to see my husband behind the camera, smiling at me smiling at the camera. There's something about our infinitely contagious smiles in those moments that always end up inspiring photos like these. His jokes about my awkward poses don't help, either:DSC_2170

Have a wonderful day.
