Dress Well: Meet Ms. Repeat

All Saints leather jacket, Zara blouse (old), Paige jeans, Madewell booties (old), TEXI leather bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

What's one of the unexpected perks of having a weekend where you only hang out with your husband? Creating the opportunity to re-wear your weekend outfits at work the next week. I wore this ensemble out when my husband and I went to Bar Crudo for dinner on Saturday night - and gladly grabbed it out of my closet again yesterday morning when I couldn't decide what to wear. After all, no one saw me in it, so who would ever notice? Well, assuming that I didn't divulge my secret to the world here on the blog - too late now, I suppose.

Have a lovely Wednesday.

Dress Well: Fall

Anthropologie dress (old), Rocket Dog boots (old), J. Crew necklace (old), TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses (old)

Yesterday when I was getting dressed I went through the usual conundrum - I have tons of clothes, and yet I feel like I have nothing to wear (it's probably the least-sympathetic conundrum ever). Since it was the first day of fall AND it was warm, I decided to pull out my good old paisley corduroy secret shirtdress. Every time I wear this tons of people compliment me on my skirt, but this skirt has a surprise bonus feature - an attached shirt! You know I'm all for simplicity, so the long and the short of it is that I'm SO glad fall (and deep red paisleys and one-piece wonders) are back!

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Something Old, Something Blue

Anthropologie dress (old), Anthropologie scarf (old), Rocket Dog boots, J. Crew bracelet (old), Tory Burch bag, Tory Burch sunglasses

This post has nothing to do with weddings - that was just the most creative title I could come up with.

I often find myself thinking "I have nothing to wear!!" I stand in front of my closet on weekdays and agonize over how I've worn every single combination of every single item of clothing I own. (Don't worry, the mathematical side of my brain knows that that can't be the case. I'm somehow able to post different outfit photos three times a week every week - clearly I'm not hurting for clothes.)

That constant feeling of having NOTHING new to wear, though, makes mornings like yesterday morning all the more sweet. Yesterday I stood in front of my closet, selected a few items that I've had for a long time and yet had never worn together before, and absolutely loved my outfit. The whole experience of getting dressed was easy, low-key, and simple - exactly what I shoot for in my style and exactly what I think everyone's relationship with clothes should be. Dressing yourself shouldn't be a chore - it should be a joy. Yesterday reinforced that.

P.S. - Please excuse my crazy hair in these photos. The wind was out of control yesterday.

DSC_6591This face pretty much says it all on how I feel about crazy wind. Really, the photos I've selected here don't do the wind justice - you should see the 200 photos I deleted where half my hair decided to take up residence over my face.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Dress Well: Summer Flowers

Zara blouse (old), AG jeans, Sam Edelman sandals, J. Crew bracelet, Tory Burch bag, Coach sunglasses

Okay, so summer is this weird, eternally cold, funky season here in San Francisco. But I'm still trying (with mixed success, admittedly) to channel some summer sun into my clothes. So yesterday, despite the fact that it was chilly, I threw on my favorite Zara paisley blouse with my white jeans. Something about flowers + white just make it feel more like summer, even when your teeth are chattering.

Ever since I started my new job, my weekday life has looked like this: come home from work, eat the dinner that my wonderful husband has prepared for me, write this blog, and watch Breaking Bad. However, last night we finished the last Breaking Bad episode until the new season premieres in August. So I basically have no idea what to do with my life anymore. Any suggestions?
