Dress Well: Pleats To Meet You

Madewell dress (old), Rag&Bone booties, J. Crew necklace (no longer available), Rebecca Minkoff bag, Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses

Last weekend we had the pleasure of experiencing 75-degree temperatures and perfect, perfect sunlight here in San Francisco. To celebrate, I wore a dress (a major departure from my standard shirt + jeans uniform!) and took a cat nap in the sun on our rooftop deck. We usually only get warm(ish) weather in April and October, so my legs probably won't see the light of day again for at least two more months. But there are worse things.

This week has been a repeating whirlwind of gym - commute - work - commute - watch Gilmore Girls - repeat. While I realize that it sounds like a dull existence, I've actually relished it quite a bit--I'm a happier person when I make it to the gym regularly, have plenty to keep me occupied at work, and get to cap off my days by introducing my husband to my absolute favorite (and objectively best) season of Gilmore Girls (if you didn't know I was talking about season three then I'm not sure we can be friends anymore).

To make things even better, we have a fun brunch with friends AND a charity ball to look forward to this weekend. (Two engagements in one weekend? Who are we?!) I can't wait to enjoy good food and good drinks with good friends--nothing makes a weekend more enjoyable, right?

I hope you have something fun lined up, too. See you next week.

Dress Well: Black Cuff

Madewell shirt, Paige Denim ankle zip jeans (old), Rag&Bone booties, Madewell necklace, Clare Vivier clutch, Ray-Ban sunglasses

Countdown to a haircut: two days. So necessary at this point.

I'll be honest - I wore this outfit when we went out to dinner on Friday night. On Monday mornings, I prefer to exhibit as little creativity as possible. When I can rely on past outfits AND wear something comfortable, I know I have a winner. There's nothing quite like floating through your Monday feeling like you're wearing a pajama shirt.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Dress Well: I Will Always Love You

Super old sweater via Nordstrom, J. Crew shirt (old), J Brand jeans, Rag&Bone booties, Madewell necklace, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

If I had to pick a theme song for this outfit, it would be "I Will Always Love You." I adore every single piece in this ensemble and will undoubtedly wear each piece repeatedly for years to come.

I got this sweater thingy in the B.P. section of Nordstrom years ago - it used to be my favorite thing to wear during college when I would fly to see my then-boyfriend (now husband) out here in California. I love it to this day, although I don't wear it enough. I'm glad it finally occurred to me to pair it with my J. Crew striped shirt, which y'all know I will wear until the day it finally says "enough!" and disintegrates into dust because it's tired of how frequently I wear it.

Also, just in case you were under the impression that I am always perfectly photogenic, I'd like to submit this gem from this same photoshoot:

I have no idea what possessed me to make that face.

I can't believe I haven't mentioned this yet, but TOMORROW I will be flying to Boston to go see one of my very best friends in this whole wide world! I've never been to Boston before - I haven't even been to the east coast since I went and visited this same friend in New York over two years ago. After a few crazy-busy weeks, a long weekend of sightseeing, eating, and laying around on her couch is just what the doctor ordered. You'll have to forgive me if my blogging slips a bit as a result!

Have a great Wednesday, friends.

Dress Well: Day Owl

J. Crew vest, J. Crew blouse, Citizens of Humanity jeans, Rag & Bone booties, Michael Kors watch, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

You know, I thought I had worn this shirt on the blog before...but I can't seem to find the post. So maybe I'm imagining things! Regardless of whether or not I've said it before, I LOVE this button-down. The mascot at my alma mater, Rice University, was an owl, so I feel especially spirited any time I don this shirt. What's not to love about being able to show school spirit in a subtle way?

Is there anything better than four-day weeks? I really don't think so. This one flew by, and I'm looking forward to another fun weekend spent with my husband. Hopefully all of you have something fun lined up. I'll see you back here next week!
