Dress Well: Lace it Up

Anthropologie dress, Rocket Dog booties, Madewell necklace, Anthropologie bag (old)

A fun brunch at Cotogna over the weekend gave me a good excuse to bust out this white and lace Anthropologie dress. (The slightly warmer weather was an important part, too.) This sweet octopus graffiti by the restaurant gave me a good excuse to bust out the camera. The combination of the two gave me a good excuse to put the whole thing on the blog!

DSC_7155Did everyone have a good President's Day weekend? (Apologies to those of you who didn't get the day off - I had to work on MLK, so I totally feel your pain.) We had a great long weekend, full of fun times with friends, great meals, lots of time spent in the sun, and even finishing a few projects around the house. I felt like I was snapping pictures of the fun things we did all weekend - I'm sure you'll be seeing those trickle out on Instagram throughout this week!

Have a wonderful TUESDAY (nothing better than a four-day work week, right?)!

Dress Well: Austin

Anthropologie blouse (similar-ish), Joe's jeans (similar), Rocket Dog boots, J. Crew bracelet (similar), TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses (old)

"Austin" is the one and only word on my mind. It's only been three short weeks since we were there for Thanksgiving, but somehow it's felt like an eternity. We'll be rushing around like crazy people today trying to finish up our work, pack, and get all of our Christmas gifts en route to Texas, but the allure of five uninterrupted days at home will make all of the craziness worth it.

Given my intense level of anticipation for our rapidly-approaching trip, I felt it was only fitting to wear an embroidered maroon shirt. Believe you me that I would have worn this baby to the rodeo if I still lived in Texas. Since we don't have any rodeos here in San Francisco, I settled for wearing it to work. But the rodeo would have been way better.

Thanks for sticking with me this week, despite it being a bit of a sparse week here on the blog. Outfit photos have been tricky for the past few weeks - my husband has had to go into work early, and I traveled a bit for work - but we're looking forward to putting together some great content for the new year.

If you're headed home, travel safely, and I'll see you back here next week!

Dress Well: Fall

Anthropologie dress (old), Rocket Dog boots (old), J. Crew necklace (old), TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses (old)

Yesterday when I was getting dressed I went through the usual conundrum - I have tons of clothes, and yet I feel like I have nothing to wear (it's probably the least-sympathetic conundrum ever). Since it was the first day of fall AND it was warm, I decided to pull out my good old paisley corduroy secret shirtdress. Every time I wear this tons of people compliment me on my skirt, but this skirt has a surprise bonus feature - an attached shirt! You know I'm all for simplicity, so the long and the short of it is that I'm SO glad fall (and deep red paisleys and one-piece wonders) are back!

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Dress Well: After the Game

Vince tee, J. Crew shorts, Rocket Dog booties, Anthropologie necklace, Michael Kors watch (old), J. Crew bangle, TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I spent part of the day on Saturday watching Rice play A&M. For me, it's hard to watch any Texas college football game and not feel like I'm back in my home state. Because I was actually in sunny, beautiful San Francisco, I figured I could at least dress like I was in my home state.

So, I pulled out my booties and jean shorts (it was warm enough to wear shorts!!!). I wore this out to lunch with a friend. After the sun set, I swapped the shorts out for white jeans and the booties out for flats.

Between the warm weather, game-induced high spirits, and seeing a friend from back home, I felt as close to Texas as I could get despite the 2,000 mile distance.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend - have a great short week!
