Dress Well: Take It Easy

DSC_4199

Anthropologie blouse, Madewell boyfriend jeans, Sam Edelman sandals, Kendra Scott necklace, Anthropologie bag (old), Ray-Ban sunglasses (red version)

I'm glad I decided to take it easy from a clothes perspective on Tuesday - work was NOT easy, but wearing comfortable clothes made it marginally better. Plus, I just love this outfit. There's something about wearing good clothes that makes working on PowerPoint presentations late into the night more bearable.DSC_4228

DSC_4237The thing that makes EVERYTHING marginally better this week is the fact that my parents land in San Francisco this afternoon! I'm very much looking forward to a weekend of eating, laughing, drinking wine, and enjoying this beautiful city. Life is good, my friends!

Dress Well: To the Max

Old Navy dress (on sale!), Sam Edelman sandals, J. Crew bangle, Anthropologie bag (old)

Well, you've seen it before and you'll see it again - I'm finally jumping on a bandwagon that's at least a year old. One year ago I was saying NO WAY to anything and everything maxi. However, when I spotted this soft, striped, super inexpensive dress at Old Navy, I thought it was maybe time to dip a toe into the trend. Turns out I should have jumped in earlier - how great would this dress have been when we were on the beach back in January?

DSC_3863I apologize for my long hiatus this week! Work has been crazy, and I've just been generally slow to adjust back to a normal schedule following our trip to Cincinnati last weekend. Which, by the way, was amazing. I enjoyed every single second we spent celebrating our friends' beautiful wedding and wonderful (new!) marriage. I'm looking forward to celebrating many more happy unions over the next couple years.

Back at you tomorrow (hopefully). I mean, we just finished Orange is the New Black and Fargo, so do I really have an excuse?

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Dress Well: Velvet and Stripes, and Everything Nice

J. Crew coat, J. Crew blouse (love this version), Current/Elliot velvet jeans, Sam Edelman booties, J. Crew necklace (similar), TEXI leather bag, Coach sunglasses (old)

You know those outfits that just make you feel awesome? That's this outfit for me. I mean, what's not to love? As I've told you guys many times, this is my all-time favorite shirt. Add it to velvet jeans (yes you read that right - velvet) and you have an outfit made in heaven. These pants are one of the best purchases I have ever made - I got them 60% off in Nordstrom's after Christmas sale and have treasured them dearly ever since. Maybe it's dumb to be that attached to pants, but come on...they're velvet!

Dress Well: Fall Wish List

Zara sweater, Madewell coated jeans, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, J. Crew socks, Sam Edelman boots

I'm embarrassingly proud of this collage.

Welcome to the uniform I plan to be wearing for the next six months. Okay, am dreaming about wearing - it'll take me quite awhile to save up for that bag. Even though we've officially entered San Francisco's "summer," all I can think about lately is big, cozy sweaters, coated jeans, and finding a good way to wear cute socks. Isn't fall just the best?

I wish I had something fun to report about my week here...but y'all, my life is awfully tame. We had a great dinner at Rich Table on Tuesday night, but other than that it has been (almost) all work and a tiny bit of play. I'm really looking forward to the weekend - this week has been exhausting so far, so I'm counting down to sleeping in, spending time with friends, and just enjoying another wonderful weekend in this beautiful place. We'll get there soon enough, right?

Have a great day.
