Dress Well: Bejeweled

Topshop top via Nordstrom (old), J. Crew white jeans, Sam Edelman sandals, J. Crew necklace (old), J. Crew bangle, Anthropologie bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses

Is it just me, or did the peplum trend totally disappear? I haven't seen a new peplum item in a store or online in quite some time. How quickly these things come and go.

Maybe peplum is gone from stores, but it's certainly still got a place in my closet. I bought this top last year and I will be wearing it for a few more years to come at least. I love the color, it makes me feel like my arms are awesome, and it plays nicely with big necklaces - win, win, win.

I also just can't get enough of this old Anthropologie bag these days. If you had told me on the day that I got it that I would someday be wearing it while living in San Francisco and taking photos for my fashion blog, I would have told you you were out of your mind. I guess clothing trends aren't the only things that make dramatic changes in the course of a few years.

DSC_3475At this point in the week, I'm about ready to go into hibernation. Wake me up when it's Friday, won't you?

Dress Well: Found in Nature

J. Crew blouse, J. Crew jeans, Chie Mihara wedges, Kendra Scott necklace (old), Anthropologie bag (old), Ray-Ban sunglasses

I bought this blouse at J. Crew back when I bought these jeans, but somehow it hasn't made an appearance on the blog until today. Regardless, it's become my go-to summer shirt - light, machine washable (for when I inevitably spill ice cream on it), and a good match for white jeans (minus the ice cream thing). And I love it with my orange Anthro bag - I think the combo is just the right amount of "earth mother."

DSC_2477I would write more, but all my extra time is being dedicated to Orphan Black these days - have you seen it? At the pace my husband and I are tearing through the show, I'm pretty sure we'll have finished it by the time Orange is the New Black makes its season two debut on June 6th. Does that make it sound like my home life revolves around TV? Because it kind of does these days. At least it's quality programming, right?

Have an amazing Wednesday! (Seriously, four-day weeks are the best.)

Dress Well: Watercolor

Anthropologie blouse, J. Crew jeans, Chie Mihara wedges (on MAJOR sale), J. Crew necklace (old), Rebecca Minkoff bag

This shirt is the second of my Anthropologie grabs from their sale a few weeks back. Like I've said before, I feel like I'm stockpiling silk shirts - they're just so perfect for work. And this one has the added benefit of being so busy that you won't be able to tell when I inevitably spill food on it.

I'm sure I'll be wearing the other two things I picked up at Anthropologie this weekend, but I can't promise that I'll be able to fit outfit photos in between all the eating, laughing, and wine-drinking me, my husband, my sister, and her fiancé will be doing this weekend. Life is rough, life is rough.

Have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend.

Dress Well: Those Summer Nights

Banana Republic blouse (old), J. Crew jeans, Chie Mihara wedges, Anthropologie cuff (old), Anthropologie bag (old), Ray-Ban sunglasses

Confession: I am a HUGE Grease fan. You know, in case you were wondering about the title of this post.

You guys - summer has arrived! It got up to 90 degrees in San Francisco today - if that isn't summer what is? Of course, I could barely sleep last night because it was so warm (we don't do air conditioning in this neck of the woods) but overall I would say that it was worth it, if for nothing else than to get to experience the all-too-rare feeling of walking outside and having my first thought NOT be "man, I could really use a jacket."

The unseasonably warm weather gave me a great reason to pull this old-but-good blouse out of my closet. Also, didn't I tell you I was going to be living in these wedges?

From the files of "bizarre things that make me smile": yesterday was definitely an interesting day for driving. On my way home from work, I pulled onto the freeway next to a guy who was playing a trumpet...while driving. Like, left hand on the steering wheel, right hand on the trumpet. It was wild. What was even better, though, was the electronic traffic sign I saw on my way into work. I thought it was notifying me of a wreck, but no - it said, "TURN BACK. GODZILLA ATTACK." To whoever programmed that sign - I request the highest of fives.

Rounding out what is already a great week - I got the items I ordered from Anthropologie over the weekend (they had a 15% off sale - I had to) last night! I'm really excited about what I snagged - can't wait to show you guys.

Have a great Wednesday.
